ALBERTO GARUTTI

The oeuvre of the Italian Alberto Garutti (b. 1948, Galbiate) has its roots in the Arte Povera movement. For this installation in Sint-Petrus en Pauluskerk a white sheet of A4 paper flutters down from the highest point of the church every four minutes. Garutti uses this installation to demonstrate how all our lifelines converge at one single point. Everything we have done up until now, all the paths we have traversed, have led us to this moment. The mystical dimension of the work fits in perfectly with the impressive church interior.
