British film director Mike Figgis (b. 1948, Carlisle) looks at The Raft of the Medusa as if he has a typical Hollywood scenario in front of him. He doesn’t concentrate on the raft, but goes looking for what happened just before and just after the disaster. The films are presented as a reflection of the medium of film, with storyboards, screen tests and film fragments.
