The work by Filippos Tsitsopolous (b. 1967, Athens) follows the basic principles of Abstract Expressionism. The creative process is as important to him as the result, and he doesn’t shy away from using other material alongside paint. This specific series denotes the romantic belief in the transformative power of art. Tsitsopolous perceives human existence to be a rickety boat, which we launch nevertheless, and art the expression of fiery, all-consuming abhorrence.
