MONTY PYTHON

This sketch by the British Monty Python group was inspired by the historical court case between Richard Parker on the one side and Dudley and Stephens on the other. After their ship sank in 1884, Dudley and Stephens drifted at sea in a lifeboat for over twenty days. Made desperate by hunger, they decided to kill and eat the severely weakened Parker – a gruesome murder for which they were later convicted. In this funny sketch, the characters bicker over who can eat whom: ’Those who want to can eat Johnson. And you, sir, can have my leg’.
